I'm Thomas, a student at Pomfret School. My heart, though, has always lived somewhere else: in the soft humus of Costa Rican rainforests, on the edge of Alaskan glaciers as they crack and calve into the sea, in the stillness of a forest clearing where birds rise all at once before dawn.
I have long been asking the same question: how are we meant to live alongside nature? The answer has come to me the way a seed breaks through soil, slowly and with quiet certainty. I conducted fieldwork in the rainforest, founded an environmental magazine, organized sustainability forums, designed low-carbon calendars. Each step grew out of the last. Nothing was loud. Nothing was large. But nothing stopped either.
What all of this has taught me is not how to change the world, but that change does not need to be grand. It only needs to be real. This website is my open notebook: data alongside poetry, finished projects alongside unfinished doubts, an honest record of how I have thought and moved through this work.
If you carry the same quiet worry about the future of this earth, I hope we find each other here. A single footprint disappears in wind and rain. But the tracks of many people, walking together, can reshape the land itself.
